Admissions

We are restricted to the number and ages of children that we can care for at any one time. These details are displayed on our Ofsted Registration Certificates, we are registered as Michelle Walker and Tina Lock.

 

We are happy to care for any child within our registered numbers and will not discriminate against children or their families for reasons such as race, religion, sex or ability. 

We offer full day sessions and flexible hours, minimum session is 6 hours. Places with us are offered at a minimum of 2 sessions per week. 

 

Prior to your child commencing at Penguin Childcare parents/carers are required to fill out a contract and provide us with a copy of the child’s birth certificate, we will also ask you to provide the following information: emergency contact numbers, child’s dietary requirements, special health requirements, info about who has parental responsibility, parental permission to seek emergency medical advice, starting date and number of sessions per week, illness and vaccinations, consent for photography for monitoring, advertising and evaluating, consent to take part in off site activities.

 

Opening Times, Fees, Holidays and Termination of Contract

 

Our day starts at 7.30am, finishing promptly at 6pm, Monday to Thursday.

 

During this time the fee will be charged at £6.50 per hour. In case of certain circumstances, your child needs to be here before or after these times you will be charged in 15 minute blocks at the hourly rate.

 

School drop off / pick up service is charged at £25 per day. This includes both drop off and pick up from school, breakfast and an evening meal. School pick up only is charged at £20, and includes the pick up, evening meal and care until 6pm.

We will take a maximum of 5 weeks holiday per year, and will give you a minimum of 30 days notice in writing. You are not charged for this time. 

 

We are closed for bank holidays, and these are charged at a normal rate.

 

Any holiday taken by you will be charged at your normal contractual rate, as we cannot fill the space whilst you are away. 

 

We require a deposit of 1 week’s fees to secure the place. 

 

Deposits will be returned if notice is given as per the notice period and your child has been attending our setting for over 6 months. If you choose to terminate the contract before the 6 month period, deposits are non refundable.

 

8 Weeks notice must be given by each party when the contract is cancelled. 

 

INVOICES WILL BE PRODUCED MONTHLY IN ADVANCE 

 

 

Funded Places

2 year old funding, universal 15 hours and extended entitlement (30hours)

 

All funded sessions are in line with the Government’s Statutory Guidance and Local Authority requirements. When you register your child for their funded place we will discuss your needs, and as far as possible with availability and in keeping with our offer. we will accommodate your wishes. We will try to accommodate hours needed or if changes to hours are needed, but this should be booked a term in advance. An additional parental contract must be filled out prior to the commencement of the funded place.

We offer funded places of 30 hours per week over 38 weeks of the year, additional time is charged at £10.00 per hour. You are welcome to provide lunch for your child as long as you abide by any dietary requirements, otherwise meals are charged as stated above.

 

All funded or paid for sessions must be booked in advance and any changes must be made in writing with 4 weeks notice, or terminations must be made in writing with 8 weeks notice.

These hours are free and will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
